Working at McDonald’s might not sound like a step toward a gaming career, but it taught me skills I use every day. From managing customer service to working with people from different backgrounds, it gave me real-world experience in teamwork, time management, and communication. Eight-hour shifts taught me stamina; running the till taught me accuracy and focus.
What surprised me most was how much it helped my mindset. In both gaming and tech, collaboration and discipline are essential. Whether you’re debugging code or brainstorming game mechanics with a team, those same soft skills apply. McDonald’s gave me a grounded work ethic — one that I now bring into every project I do.
